XV. Corn Rows!

6 Nov

Well, I FINALLY did it! Ever since I saw Million Dollar Baby, I’ve wanted to try out the corn-row look of the badass man-chick Hillary Swank fights.

BUUUUUUT… Well, since I’m not “ethnic,” out of prison, or a dude, I had to change it a bit to fit my look.

1)Separate the hair into sections. Start at the top, where a normal straight-part would be. Begin to reverse-French-braid.

2)Continue until you have gone from ear-to-ear. Use sculpting wax to give the hair texture and make it easier to braid. This also helps to keep it held-together like glue. 😉

3)Once finished, use a 50/50 gel:water mixture and pat the top of the hair to make sure it stays in place. I also chose to pull each of the braids into a pony.

***I would highly suggest a little makeup and jewelry if you wish to keep it feminine-looking***

GOOD LUCK!!!

Peace ❤

V. How to Get Rufio-Inspired Hair

28 Aug

RU-FI-OOOOOO!

Hot? ABSOLUTELY.

The Concubines from Anna and the King.

Gorgeous? YES.

What makes these fictional personages so swag, you ask? The hair. You can really tell a lot about a person by the way they wear the hair. If you’re the type who craves attention in the absolute best respect, then here’s the doo for you.  I have invented a style that will not make you as hot as Rufio nor the Siamese concubines, but it’ll get you headed in the right direction. 😉

1)Separate your top hair from your bottom hair, and pull both up into a reverse ponytail (as seen in blog #2. Spikey Pony). Tease, spray, and shape the hairs of each pony by rolling them between your fingers to get thick spikes everywhere.

2)Tease the hell out of the free hair. Make it messy. The “dirtier” the better (especially if your hair is fine like mine). Use massive amounts of gel and spray until your hair shapes itself by thought alone! Okay, not that much… but you get the idea. You need texture and pliability.

3)Pull your front hair up and tease it to death. Spike it, shape it, rock it.

4)Apply colors if you wish. I used temporary streaker from Sally’s. It’s basically like a mascara tube with applicator brush that comes in a variety of colors. I chose red and black because Rufio is the love of my life.

5)Add whatever finishing touches you deem necessary (I like to have the sides of my hair down in front of my ears because it gives me a wispy, dreamer-look). Sexy. Okay, and that’s that!

P.S. Dante Basco, I love you. ❤

III. Pachycephalosaurus Braids

27 Aug

Yes, you thought right. This braided hairstyle was inspired by the beautiful but deadly Pachycephalosaurus. It’s an easy style that can be obtained in a few simple steps.

Note: Before I began, I texturized my hair by teasing it with a comb and some hairspray.

1) Pull the bangs back and twist into a “Gwen Stefani” bang. Yes, it’s stupid, but it totally works with this hairstyle.

2) Part the hair evenly down the center, and reverse-French-braid both sides. Personally, I have great difficulty French braiding my own hair, and I ALWAYS end up reversing the braid, but a reverse braid is necessary for this style.

3)Pull each braid across the other to form an “X,” then use bobby-pins  to pin each braid in place (as shown). Tuck any loose ends, finish with spray, and rock your dino-sheik!

Peace ❤
